Larne Homes Attacked With Hammers

Two houses in Larne, County Antrim, have been attacked by a group of masked men with hammers.

The attacks occurred in the Herbert Avenue and Newington Avenue areas of the town at about 00:40 on Friday.

Windows and doors of the two properties were smashed, but neither of the male occupants was injured.

Pipe Bomb Attack In N Belfast

Three occupants of a house in north Belfast have escaped injury following a bomb attack.

A pipe bomb was thrown at the front door of a house in Carlisle Square in the New Lodge at about 22:30 on Thursday evening.

Minor damage was caused.

Police have appealed for anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area to contact them.

Men Arrested Over Fuel Laundering

HMRC officers have arrested three men following the discovery of 2,000 litres of laundered fuel.

A pump, storage tanks and hoses were also found in a search of the premises and two vehicles in Lisburn, County Antrim.

The vehicles were stopped by police and seized by HMRC officers on Tuesday.

Investigation Into Sudden Death

Police are investigating the sudden death of a man in his 30s in County Antrim.

The man died at Newington Avenue, Larne, yesterday afternoon.

A post-mortem examination is being carried out.

Man And Woman Attacked In Ballymena
A man and woman are being treated in hospital after being assaulted by masked men in County Antrim. A group of masked men forced their way into a house on the Ballybogey Road in Ballymena in the early hours of Tuesday morning. A man has been arrested in connection with the incident and is being questioned by the police.

Two die in road traffic incidents
Two men have died following separate road traffic incidents over the weekend. Damien McGovern, 17, from Drumaran in Letterbreen, near Enniskillen, died following a collision at Sligo Road in Belcoo on Sunday evening. A 37-year-old man has also died after his lorry crashed in Greenisland, County Antrim early on Monday.

Police launch 'major operation' against loyalist crime
Police have launched what they described as a "major search and arrest operation" against loyalist paramilitaries and organised crime in the Waterside area of Londonderry. Police confirmed that as of around 8.00am this morning seven men and one woman had been arrested during the search operations.

Man Dies Following Collision In Ballymoney
A 21-year-old man has died after he sustained serious injuries in a car crash in County Antrim almost three weeks ago. John Reid, from Ballymena, was one of two men injured in the single car collision on the Kilraughts Road on 30 August. Mr Reid died in hospital on Thursday. Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Two men arrested in connection with Todd murder
Police have arrested two men in Belfast earlier today for questioning in connection with the murder of County Antrim car dealer, Ronald Todd. The body of the 30-year-old Lisburn man was recovered from the River Lagan, close to the Stranmillis embankment area of south Belfast on February 14.
