Men Arrested In PSNI Shooting Investigation
Three men have been arrested as part of investigations into the attempted murder of a police officer in Dungannon, County Tyrone, in 2007
Detectives from the Serious Crime Branch arrested the suspects, aged 36, 37 and 41, in County Antrim this morning.
They have been taken to the Serious Crime Suite at Antrim police station for questioning.
The murder attempt began as the police officer left Dungannon station on 12 November 2007 along the Circular Road at around 17:30.
He stopped at traffic lights outside the chapel, when a gunman fired shots and seriously injured him.
The officer drove back to the station and crashed into the front gate, receiving medical help from colleagues before being taken to hospital.
Police have renewed their appeal for information about the attack. Detectives want to hear from anyone with any information about the incident to contact them on 0845 600 8000.
Alternatively, the independent charity Crimestoppers can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.

The woman died from bleeding to the brain on 24 February 2014, the day after she suffered the injury.

The House of Lords has renewed the 50/50 recruitment rule for the PSNI by a majority of 44. It puts into practice a recommendation made in 1999 by Lord Patten that the local police force should be split evenly between Catholics and Protestants. The result of the vote was 141 to 97.
