Further Woes For NI Charity Concert
Fans who bought tickets for a JLS charity concert organised for Belfast next month have been dealt another blow.
Late last week, it was announced that the concert - JLS and Friends - had been cancelled. It was due to be held at the Titanic Slipways on 2 August.
The charity, Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children, would have been a major beneficiary of the event, but had to issue a statement last week after the organisers said the event had been pulled.
No reason has yet been given for the cancellation.
It was then reported that tickets for the event could be transferred to a similar event being held at Newry's Pairc Esler on 1 August. However, the NICFC has said this is not the case and tickets bought for the Belfast concert will have to be refunded via Ticketmaster.
NICFC CEO, Gillian Creevy said: "We are very disappointed this concert has been cancelled. We know everyone has been working very hard to support the work of Northern Ireland Cancer Fund for Children and I understand this decision was taken with extreme reluctance.
"I would like to thank each and every person who bought a ticket. We would also like to thank everyone who was working behind the scenes to help make this event happen and all media outlets – newspapers, television, radio, online – which helped us promote it."
