Clifford Condemns Petrol Bomb Attack
SDLP Councillor Jim Clifford has condemned yesterday's attack on an 11-year-old boy in L'Derry who has suffered serious burns after a petrol bomb was thrown at him in a play park in Creggan.
Mr Clifford said: "The community is in shock at this despicable attack on an 11-year-old boy.
"This incident is deeply worrying because it is not the run-of-the-mill anti-social behaviour. Indeed, this attack will maim and scar this child for life.
"A petrol bomb is as dangerous as a gun and this incident could have even resulted in a fatality.
"I wish this young boy a speedy recovery and would urge anyone with information on this serious attack to pass it on to the police immediately."
