NI Doctor Wins Apprentice

A doctor from L'Derry has become the latest winner of the BBC One entrepreneurial show The Apprentice.

Leah Totton was awarded with a £250,000 investment for her cosmetic procedures business.

The company plans to sell anti-ageing skin treatments at a chain of clinics.

SDLP Foyle MP Mark Durkan has congratulated Miss Totton on her victory.

He said: "I am delighted for Leah who should be rightly proud of herself today after having won The Apprentice.

"This remarkable achievement shows yet more positive recognition of Derry – coming after the high-profile of landmark City of Culture events (like One Big Weekend and Return of Colmcille) as well as St. Patrick’s Songs of Praise success and Hollybush Primary School’s winning of the highly-coveted green energy Ashden Award."
