Mayor Condemns Beach Littering

Patrons who leave rubbish behind on beaches have been called "irresponsible" by the mayor on Buncrana, Co Donegal.

"As soon as the sun shines people come out enjoy the beach, but they forget to take their rubbish with them," Peter McLaughlin said.

"If they were watching TV in their homes they wouldn't throw rubbish over the side of their settee," he said.

"Broken bottles are the big danger because they're partially buried in the sand, leaving a high risk for injuries."

Armed Men Hold Up Co Tyrone Hotel

Police in Co Tyrone are appealing for information after an armed gang robbed a hotel.

The robbery happened at around 05:00 on Sunday at a hotel on the Beltany Road, between Omagh and Newtownstewart.

Police say that three men, armed with what is believed to have been a shotgun, ordered a member of staff to hand over cash.

Man In Court Over Orange Hall Arson

A man has been charged with arson in connection with an attack on an Orange Hall in Co Tyrone in the early hours of Saturday.

Police say scorch damage was caused to the front door of the Hall in Stewartstown.

A 33-year-old man appeared before Omagh Magistrates Court today charged with the incident.

Orange Hall Attack Being Treated As A 'Hate Crime'
Police are treating an attack on an Orange Hall in Crumlin, Co Antrim, as a hate crime. The PSNI received a report that a bin was on fire in the Main Street area of the town at around 4.30am on Thursday, 12 July. Graffiti was daubed on a wall and door of the memorial hall. Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

Orange Hall Attacked In Co Tyrone
Minor damage has been caused to an Orange Hall following an attack in Co Tyrone. The incident happened at the Glenageeragh Orange Hall in Augher on Saturday, 24 March. The remains of what is believed to be a petrol bomb were discovered inside the building. The PSNI are treating the attack as a hate crime.

Windows Smashed At Masonic Hall In Co Down
Police have launched an investigation after windows were smashed at a Masonic Hall in Co Down. The hall on the Dromore Road in Ballynahinch is believed to have been targeted on Thursday afternoon. Police are searching for a man described as aged in his 30s, of medium build with dark hair. He was wearing a dark denim jacket.

Orange Hall In Co Antrim Vandalised With Graffiti
An attack on an Orange Hall in Co Antrim is being treated as a hate crime, police have said. Graffiti was painted on the walls of the building in Main Street, Rasharkin, at some point over the weekend. Superintendent John Magill has said the vandalism is being treated as a hate crime. He also appealed for anyone with information to contact police.

Orange Hall paint bombed in Co Armagh
Police have appealed for information after an Orange Hall was attacked with paint bombs in Co Armagh. It is understood the incident occurred on Wednesday afternoon in Milford but was not reported to police until late on Thursday. The front of the hall, which is on Hill Street, was damaged with brown paint in the attack.
