Calerrific Launches New Biscuit

Belfast-based Calerrific Ltd has recently launched its nutritional biscuit, CalBisc 100, to market following support from Invest Northern Ireland.

The company used an Invest NI innovation voucher to develop CalBisc 100 which is targeted at people in need of a nutritional boost as a result of illness, after surgery, or for those with active lifestyles.

Alan Baird, Managing Director of Calerrific Ltd, said: "Our goal is to provide nutritional products that deliver essential nourishment, support dietary needs and enhance health and well-being. We used an Invest NI innovation voucher to work with experts at St Angela's College in Sligo who helped us to produce a biscuit that is both tasty and nutritious."

CalBisc 100 is a fortified shortbread made by combining a carefully selected range of flours, seeds and berries with milk powder, butter and soft brown sugar. The consistency is softer than a traditional shortbread and crumbles readily, making it easier to eat. CalBisc 100 is marketed at customers across Great Britain and the Republic of Ireland with numerous pharmacies in Northern Ireland already selling the product.

Alan continued: "CalBisc 100 offers an alternative food supplement to the shakes currently on the market and has received very positive reviews among local customers. We will be focusing on driving sales outside Northern Ireland over the coming months and developing a second product to add to our offering."
