Carrickfergus Bar Damaged In Fire
A bar in Carrickfergus, Co Antrim, has been badly destroyed in an overnight fire.
More than 30 firefighters tackled the blaze at Ownies Bar and Bistro which started just before 2am on Tuesday.
The pub, formally knows as the Joymount Arms, is the second to be damaged in the town in as many days. On Saturday, around 12.40am, the Northgate Bar on North Street was gutted in a deliberate fire.
Investigations are now underway for the Ownies Bar fire, but it is thought it was started by an electrical fault.

ASSEMBLY CREATE AWARD TO HONOUR FIRE SERVICE
THE Northern Ireland Fire Service is to receive the first ever award given by the province's devolved assembly. An illuminated scroll is to be presented to Chief Fire Officer John McClelland on Tuesday, by assembly speaker Lord Alderdice in tribute to the sacrifice made by fire fighters over the years.

NIFRS Launches Online Home Fire Safety Check Tool
The Northern Ireland Fire & Rescue Service (NIFRS) has introduced a new online tool to help residents assess their home fire safety. The Home Fire Safety Check coincides with Fire Safety Week, which runs from September 30th to October 6th. The initiative aims to reduce the number of house fires in Northern Ireland.

Fire crews deal with separate fires in Co Antrim
Police are appealing for information following two suspicious fires in Co Antrim in the early hours of Friday morning. The first fire was discovered at a factory unit in north Belfast at around 12 midnight. It is believed the blaze started when paper inside the unit was set alight. Some windows and two other units were damaged in the fire.

FIRE DESTROYS BAR IN DUNGIVEN
AN investigation is being carried out into the cause of an overnight fire which destroyed a bar and a restaurant at a County Londonderry landmark. An adjoining hostel had to be evacuated and up to 10 people had to be moved during the blaze at the Castle Inn in Dungiven.

An early morning fire has caused extensive damage to a bar in Belfast's city centre. Firefighters were called to Dempsey's Terrace on the Dublin Road shortly before 4am on Monday morning.
