Two cars stolen during south Belfast robbery

A man has been threatened with a hammer and a knife during a robbery at his house in the Dorchester Park area of south Belfast.

The incident happened in the early hours of yesterday morning when two men smashed a window in the house and confronted the victim before demanding the keys of the two family cars.

One of the vehicles which was stolen, a Volkswagen Passat was later recovered the Dunmurry area. The second car, an Audi A4 reg no LCZ 3597, is still missing.

Police would like to speak to anyone who has information about the incident or the whereabouts of the outstanding Audi car should contact the detectives at Musgrave Street on 028 9065 0222. They would also like to speak to anyone who saw a silver Volkswagen Golf in the Dorchester Park around the time of the robbery.

Elsewhere in Dunmurry, a man has been treated in hospital for gunshot wounds to both ankles following a paramilitary-style shooting.

The man was found in an alleyway in Woodside Drive in Poleglass at around 10.45pm last night.

Man Arrested Over Armed Robbery In West Belfast
A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in west Belfast. The robbery happened at a shop on Caffrey Avenue at around 9.30pm on Tuesday, 27 February. The suspect threatened a member of staff and made off with a sum of cash and cigarettes. He was arrested on Wednesday, 28 February, and has been detained in police custody.

Police described the assault as "brutal and horrific". A 26-year-old man was detained in the Drumahoe area on Thursday, 16 November.

Man Arrested Over Attempted Murder In Co Armagh
A man has been arrested over an attempted murder in Craigavon, Co Armagh. Police received a report of a stabbing in the Abercorn Park area shortly after 11.50pm on Wednesday, 04 May. Police attended the scene and found a 34-year-old man had been attacked with a knife and hammer. The victim sustained injuries to his head and shoulder.
