Train Line Reopens Following Death
The train line near Lurgan, County Armagh, has reopened following the death of a man.
The man died after he was struck by a train on Wednesday close to East Way Halt.
The incident occured at 19:20. The line was closed overnight and an investigation was launched.
Man Charged Over Cannabis 'Factory'
A man has been charged following the discovery of a cannabis factory in west Belfast.
The discovery was made during a raid at a property in the Shaws Road area on Wednesday morning.
A 28-year-old man has been charged with cultivating cannabis and common assault.
Orange Order Opposes Maze Development
The Orange Order has announced its opposition to the proposed construction of a Peace Building and Conflict Resolution Centre at the site of the former Maze Prison.
In a statement, the Grand Orange Lodge of Ireland said: "We believe that the sensitivities of the innocent victims of terrorism must be paramount in this decision making process.
"In our view the construction of this centre will inevitably further the efforts of those who effectively wish to rewrite history by equating the perpetrators of violence with those innocent victims."
L'Derry Goes Yellow And Purple For Cruse
Derry City Council’s offices on the Strand Road have been lit up purple and yellow for the month of June to support the Foyle branch of Cruse Bereavement Care.
Cruse offers bereavement support to anyone who has been bereaved by death.
Mayor Cllr Martin Reilly said the Council was delighted to support the charity.
The organisation’s Footprint Walk is scheduled to take place on Saturday 15 June at 11:00, leaving from Foyle Valley Railway Centre.
The Mayor said the lighting of the Council building was a great way to promote the excellent work being done by the organisation to provide support and advice to those coping with bereavement.
