50 New Jobs At Citrix Welcomed

Fine Gael Dublin Central Deputy, Paschal Donohue, has said the announcement of 50 high-value jobs to be created by Citrix at East Point Business Park, Dublin 3 is further proof of our success in building and developing Ireland as an ICT hub.

Mr Donohue said: "There has been a sustained effort on the part of the Government over the past two years to position Ireland as an ICT hub on the world stage. Those efforts are being recognised by the myriad companies who are choosing Ireland as a base for their business or are expanding operations here, as is the case with Citrix.

"For the 50 people who secure these jobs, for which hiring will begin immediately, new opportunities will be available that will allow for career progression in areas such as technical support engineering and management, IT operations and administration. The project is supported by the Department of Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation through IDA Ireland and builds on the success the IDA has been experiencing in recent years.

"The ICT sector, incorporating cloud computing and big data, is growing at an exponential rate. It is crucial that we take advantage of this by presenting Ireland as an attractive place to locate. We must also ensure that our graduates are being supported in this area so that they can fill the jobs that are being created here. Through the Action Plan for Jobs, which delivered 96% of measures outlined in the first quarter of 2013, and the provision of 2,000 additional ICT graduates as part of Government drive to make Ireland the internet capital of Europe, we are putting the structures in place to help us succeed."
