Pair Arrested Over Dissident Activity

A man and a woman have been arrested by detectives investigating dissident republican activity.

The arrests were made in L'Derry on Monday.

A 32-year-old woman is being held following the discovery of ammunition and explosives in a raid in the Beechwood area.

A 39-year-old man arrested on Monday has been taken to Antrim serious crime suite for questioning.

Police Appeal Over Carrick Gun Attack

A 29-year-old man has been the victim of a paramilitary style shooting in Carrickfergus, County Antrim.

The man was shot in the legs in the Castlemara Drive area on Sunday at about 11:50.

Police would ask anyone who noticed any suspicious activity in the area or who has any information to contact them.

Farmer Fined For Pollution Offence

A Co Tyrone farmer has been fined £1,500 plus court costs of £22 and an Offender Levy of £15 at Dungannon Magistrates Court today after pleading guilty to making a polluting discharge to a waterway.

On 13 November 2012, a Water Quality Inspector inspected a waterway flowing below a lane leading to Cloughbane Farm, at Tandragee Road, Pomeroy, and noted the presence of grey fungus within the waterway.

Further investigation revealed an agricultural effluent was entering the waterway, and that this effluent was originating from Mr Robinson’s premises as Cloughbane Farm.

Some 500 metres of waterway was adversely affected.

A sample taken confirmed the discharge contained poisonous, noxious or polluting matter which was potentially harmful to fish life in the receiving waterway.

Two Men Convicted Of Fisheries Offences

Two men have been convicted of fisheries offences at Dungannon Magistrates court

Virginijus Mikulis from Gortnasaor, Dungannon has been convicted at Dungannon Magistrates Court today of offenses including fishing by unlicensed and unfair means and unauthorised entry on a several fishery.

Mr Mikulis was fined £200, costs of £100, an offender levy of £15 and court costs of £19.

Rimas Rusvaltas from Clonmore Villas, Dungannon was convicted of Section 41 - fishing by unlicenced and unfair means

Mr Rusvaltas was fined £100, costs of £100, an offender levy of £15 and court costs of £19.

Waterways Ireland To Develop New Sustainable Waterway Network
Infrastructure Minister John O'Dowd has welcomed Waterways Ireland's ambitious plans to develop a sustainable waterway network which will contribute significantly to the recreation, social, economic and environmental life across the island. Dungannon Firm Fined £20k Over Planning
A County Tyrone firm has been fined £20,000 after failure to comply with planning procedure. Glenfort Timber Engineering Ltd., which operates out of a site at 36 Rossmore Road Dungannon, was fined £20,000 at Dungannon Magistrates' Court today.

Two Convicted Of Benefit Fraud
Two people were convicted at Belfast Magistrates court for claiming benefits they were not entitled to. Gerard Browne, 29, of Summerhill Drive, Belfast was given 12 months probation and ordered to pay court costs of £22 for wrongful encashment of Incapacity Benefit totalling £377.

Farmer Fined For Pollution Offence
A Co Antrim farmer was fined £750 plus court costs of £24 at Ballymena Magistrates' Court today. Mr Richard Millar of Drumfin Road, Ballymena, Co. Antrim, was fined for making a polluting discharge to a waterway.
