Man Arrested Over Dunmurry Hijackings
An 18-year-old man has been arrested by the PSNI following two attempted hijackings in Dunmurry on Thursday 5 June.
A bus driver and a taxi driver both reported a group of three or four youths had tried to hijack their vehicles on Pembroke Loop Road at around 22:35.
The hijackings were unsuccessful and both drivers were able to drive off.
It's understood one of the would-be hijackers was struck by the taxi as the driver tried to get away.
The arrested male was detained at Lagan Valley Hospital after seeking treatment for an injury. He remains in custody at this time.
Detectives investigating these incidents are appealing for witnesses and are especially keen to speak to the driver of a black taxi who is also believed to have been approached by these youths.
Detectives can be contacted at Lisburn CID on 0845 600 8000.
The independent Crimestoppers charity can be contacted anonymously on 0800 555 111.
