Police Appeal Over Missing 14-Year-Old
Police and the family of missing teenager Samantha Barbour have renewed an appeal for information regarding her whereabouts.
14-year-old Samantha was reported missing from her home in Bangor shortly before 01:00 on the morning of Sun 2 June.
She is described as 5'2 in height, of medium build with brown/blonde shoulder length hair and was wearing a black jacket, Ed hardy top and jeans.
It is believed she was last seen on the Woodstock Road, Belfast around midnight on Wed 5 June.
Anyone who knows of Samantha’s whereabouts is asked to contact police in Bangor on 0845 600 8000.
Pair Jailed For £144k Benefit Fraud
Two people have been jailed at Londonderry Crown Court for claiming benefits they were not entitled to worth a combined total of over £144,000.
Donna McCool (46) of Circular Road, Creggan claimed Income Support and Jobseekers Allowance totalling £76,817 while failing to declare she was living with her partner.
She was given a five-month prison sentence.
Michael Harkin (50) of Glenabbey Street, Londonderry claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £67,292 while failing to declare he was living with his partner.
He was given a nine-month prison sentence.
Both are also required to repay any outstanding money wrongfully obtained to the Social Security Agency.
£10k Confiscation Against Incapacitated Man
The Social Security Agency Financial Investigation Unit has obtained a Confiscation Order to the value of £10,251 after an incapacitated man failed to declare savings.
David Bickerstaff (49) of Bramblewood Drive, Newry had the Order imposed at Newry Crown Court yesterday.
Mr Bickerstaff had claimed Income Support and Rates Relief on the grounds of being incapacitated from working and had no savings or other source of income.
But the court heard that the defendant had failed to declare he had savings in excess of the allowed thresholds.
He received £13,502 in benefits he was not entitled to over a three-year period.
At the confiscation hearing the Court granted a Confiscation Order in amount of £10,251 with a sentence of six months in default of non-payment.
He has until 06 September 2013 to satisfy the order.
Half Marathon A 'Runaway Success'
Belfast City Council is hoping the city's first ever half marathon will be a "runaway success", with over 500 people already having signed up to compete.
With the event still more than three months away, organisers are speculating the final number could be double that come race day.
The first ever Deep RiverRock Belfast City Half Marathon takes place on Sunday September 22, starting at Belfast City Hall at 09:00 and finishing at the newly refurbished Mary Peters Track.

Benefit Fraudsters Given Prison Terms
Two people have been handed down prison sentences for separate cases of benefit fraud. A woman was convicted at Dungannon Magistrates' court earlier this week for claiming benefits she was not entitled to. She is Mary Campbell, 52, of Loughview Gardens, Coalisland, Co Tyrone.

Damien Laverty (34) of Glenbaw Park, Dunmurry claimed Jobseekers Allowance totalling £6,746 while failing to declare employment. He was given a four-month prison sentence suspended for two years and ordered to pay court costs of £40.
