Two arrests in connection with Lennon assault

Two men have been arrested in Glasgow in connection to last week's assault on Celtic and former Northern Ireland international, Neil Lennon.

The 19 and 20-year-old men were arrested following the incident in the Hillhead area of the city last Thursday. A date has yet to be set for the men to appear in court.

The 31-year-old Lurgan-born footballer was attacked by three men after he stopped his car at traffic lights on Great Western Road in Glasgow at around 1am last Thursday morning.

The men allegedly damaged Lennon's car and, when he got out to confront them, beat him to the ground. A 21-year-old woman who was travelling with Lennon at the time was also knocked to the ground. Neither required hospital treatment.
