Shannon Airport Appoints New CEO
Fine Gael Clare Senator, Martin Conway, has welcomed the announcement by the Board of Shannon Airport Authority PLC (Shannon Airport) of the appointment of Neil Pakey as the company's new CEO.
The announcement was made today by the Minister for Transport, Tourism & Sport, Leo Varadkar TD. Mr Conway said: "“I am delighted that Mr Pakey has been appointed as CEO of Shannon Airport. Mr Pakey has a significant level of experience in the aviation industry, with over 30 years' experience in the industry and a strong track record in delivering airport passenger and revenue growth and in property management.
"Since 2010, Mr. Pakey has been the Senior Director Network Marketing of the Vantage Airports Group, with responsibility for 18 airports worldwide, including airports in Canada, Cyprus, the Caribbean and the UK.
"After being unshackled from the constraints of the Dublin Airport Authority almost six months ago, Shannon Airport now has the ability to succeed and determine its own future. The announcement today will no doubt further build upon that renewal. The appointment of Mr Pakey will give Shannon Airport the best possible chance to succeed as it sets out on a new, independent strategic direction."
