Randox Expansion Welcomed

Dungloe based MEP Pat the Cope Gallagher has welcomed the decision by Randox Teo to expand their Research and Development facility at Meenmore.

Randox Teo will invest a further EUR 0.5 million into the Dungloe facility increasing the total employment from 42 people currently to 130 by the end of 2015.

The new investment will focus on the development of new technologies for multiplex testing for kidney disease, Alzheimer's disease and lung cancers.

Pat the Cope welcomed the announcement following a visit to the facility along with the Board of Údarás na Gaeltachta and Dr. Peter Fitzgerald, the Managing Director of Randox Laboratories.

Pat the Cope said: "The decision by Randox to further invest in the Dungloe plant represents a massive vote of confidence in the workforce and general area. The creation of these further jobs will bring significant economic and social benefits to Dungloe and West Donegal. This investment highlights the total commitment of Randox to the Dungloe plant which plays a central role in world class diagnostic research carried out by Randox."
