Man To Appear In Court Over Machete Attack

A 22-year-old man is due to appear in court later on today over a machete attack in north Belfast.

It is believed a 30-year-old was slashed in the face during the attack, which happened at Edlingham Street in the early hours of Sunday.

The 22-year-old has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent, possessing an offensive weapon in a public place and common assault.

Man Arrested In Connection With Fatal Machete Attack In Omagh
The PSNI have issued an appeal for information following a fatal violent machete attack in Omagh. According to reports, a 53-year-old man died after he was attacked by a man "armed with a machete" outside a house in the Slievecoole Park area just before midnight on Sunday 16 October. A second man who was also attacked remains in hospital.

Man In Court Over Weekend Machete Attack
A man is due to appear in court charged in connection with a machete attack at the weekend. The 20-year-old man will appear before Laganside Magistrates court this morning charged with attempted murder. It follows an incident in south Belfast in the early hours of Sunday morning when a man received injuries in a machete attack.

Machete Attack In South Belfast
A man received serious facial injuries in a machete attack in south Belfast. The attack, which occurred at around 2.15am on Sunday in Glenmachen Street, left the victim with a serious facial injury. Police later had a report of a man seen with a machete in the Sandy Row area. Police have appealed for any witnesses to the attack to contact them.

Man Shot In Co L'Derry
A man has been shot in the ankle in Co L'Derry. The paramilitary-style attack happened near the Creggan shops at around 7.45pm on Thursday, 07 December. The 41-year-old man has been taken to hospital to be treated, however his injuries are not believed to be life-threatening. Police described the shooting as "brutal and horrific".

PSNI Appeal For Information After Cars Set Alight In North Belfast
The PSNI have appealed for information after four cars were set alight in north Belfast. Police say the suspected arson attack happened at around 22:30 on Tuesday night on the Whitewell Road. It is understood no one was injured in the incidents.
