Appeal Over Antrim Road Robbery
Police are appealing for information following an alleged robbery and theft in the Antrim Road area of Belfast on 9 April.
It was reported that at approximately 15:30, four teenage pupils from a local school were approached and threatened by four unknown male youths. One of the youths held a sharp object to the throat of one of the teenagers and demanded their mobile phone.
The teenagers were then searched and one of them had an iPod stolen.
It is also reported that a number of unknown male youths ran past a female teenage pupil from the same local school at about the same time.
They allegedly stole her mobile phone before making off citywards along the Antrim Road.
Pair Rescued From Belfast Fire
Two people have been rescued from a fire in north Belfast.
The pair were helped to safety from a block of flats in Flax Street at about 03:00 on Friday morning.
Five fire crews were involved in putting out the blaze.
Newry Resurfacing Schemes Underway
Two resurfacing schemes are underway in the Newry area.
The £480,000 schemes have been announced by Regional Development Minister Danny Kennedy.
Resurfacing schemes are taking place on the A2 Kilmorey Street which is valued at £330,000, while a scheme on the A28 Armagh Road is valued at some £150,000.
Improvements will provide new surfacing to the carriageways. The drainage and associated footways will also be improved.
Men Bailed Over Antique Rifle
Two men have been bailed following charges over an antique rifle found wrapped in bin liners.
The rifle, which was used in World War I, was discovered near to where the men were seen getting out of a Hyundai vehicle.
Gerard Flannigan, 32, and Brian Holmes, 24, were arrested during an investigation into suspected dissident republican activity on Barnfield Road, Lisburn, County Antrim, on 4 April.
Both were bailed at Belfast High Court.

Two Road Improvement Schemes For Newcastle
Transport Minister Danny Kennedy has said work is to commence next week on two road improvement schemes in Newcastle, Co Down. The schemes will total £324,000. Work on a £270,000 resurfacing scheme on the U6208 Shimna Road, Newcastle, and a £54,000 resurfacing scheme on Park Avenue, Newcastle, is to start on Monday 13 January 2014.
