Kilkeel Fishing Boat Detained In Republic
The skipper of a Co Down fishing vessel is due in court in the Republic after the Irish naval service detained his boat off the Co Galway coast.
It is understood he was detained on suspicion of fishing illegally inside the Republic's waters.
His Kilkeel-based vessel, the Archane, was boarded by the Irish navy at 15:00 on Tuesday, about 11 nautical miles south of the Aran islands.
There were six crew on board the Archane, all from the Kilkeel area, when it was detained.
Robinson And McGuinness Met US President
The first and deputy first ministers have met Barack Obama at the White House in Washington as part of St Patrick's Day celebrations.
The US President was briefed by Peter Robinson and Martin McGuinness on how Northern Ireland devolution has been working.
Referring to Northern Ireland later, Mr Obama said: "There's a lot more work to be done before there's true unity in that country."
Home Help Charged With Stealing From Patient
A former home help has appeared at Londonderry Magistrates Court charged with stealing about £10,000 from her 83-year-old patient.
51-year-old Sally Convery from Drumleck Drive in the Shantallow area of the city is alleged to have stolen the money on various dates between September 2010 and June of last year.
She is also charged with fraudulently using her victim's bank card.
She was released on unconditional police bail until her next court appearance on the charges on April 18.

Man Charged Over Banbridge Murder
A man charged with the murder of another man found dead in Banbridge is to appear before Newry Magistrates' Court today, 13 July. The body of 55-year-old Richard Gerard Scullion was found at a property in the Millmount Court area on Monday, 09 July. Police are appealing to anyone with information to contact them.

A 49-year-old man has appeared at Belfast Magistrates Court charged in relation with a number of firearm offences. On Wednesday, Detectives from the PSNI's Criminal Investigation Branch, discovered a number of firearms during the search of a property in the Springfield Road area of west Belfast.

A man has gone on trial accused of biting off another man's ear. John Totten, 27, of Milebush Close in Belfast, appeared at Belfast Crown Court charged with inflicting grievous bodily harm with intent. The incident occurred outside of the bar at the Bentra Golf Club, Whitehead, in July 2006.
