Men Arrested Over Fisheries Offences
Three men have been convicted of fisheries offences at Dungannon Magistrates' Court.
Svasunas Liberis, of Killyman Street, Moy, was convicted of fishing by unlicensed and unfair means, trespassing, an unlawful method of angling and retention of fish in excess.
He was fined a total of £330, with additional costs of £150, court costs of £19 and an offender levy of £15.
Martin Selby, of Locan Street, Belfast, was convicted of fishing by unlicensed and unfair means, trespassing and unlawful use or possession of ground bait and maggots
He was fined a total of £230, with additional costs of £150, court costs of £10 and an offender levy of £15.
Rusvaltas Rimas, of Clonmore Road, Dungannon, was convicted of fishing by unlicensed and unfair means.
He was fined £60, with costs of £150, court costs of £19 and a £15 offender levy.
Food Business Pleads Guilty To Pollution
A County Down food business has pleaded guilty to water pollution at Newtownards Magistrates' Court.
Willowbrook Foods Limited, of Whiterock Road, Killinchy, was fined £500 plus £22 court costs for making a polluting discharge to a waterway.
The incident began on 14 December 2011 when a Water Quality Inspector observed a plume of sewage fungus extending into Strangford Lough from a storm water discharge point.
The source was traced to the company's premises, where a holding tank was observed to be overflowing at several points.
A sample taken confirmed the discharge contained poisonous, noxious or polluting matter which was potentially harmful to fish life.
Women Convicted Over Benefit Fraud
Two women have been convicted at Dungannon Magistrates' Court for claiming benefits they were not entitled to.
Ann Henry, 31, of Ardstewart, Stewartstown, county Tyrone, claimed Income Support and Housing Benefit totalling £2,686 while failing to declare capital.
She was given a three month sentence suspended for two years and ordered to pay court costs of £37.
Juliette Hagan, 42, of Gortalowry Park, Cookstown, claimed Jobseeker's Allowance totalling £2,447 while failing to declare employment. She was given 80 hours community service.
Men Arrested Over Witness Intimidation
The PSNI have arrested two men over the alleged intimidation of a witness in a Crown court case which occurred in the Coalisland area on 8 January.
Both men, aged 36 and 43, were arrested in Belfast on Monday 11 March and are now being questioned.
Detectives have issued a photo of a man they would like to identify as part of their ongoing investigation.
Anyone with information is asked to contact detectives on 028 9180 1507. Alternatively, people can provide information anonymously to the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.

Two people were convicted at Belfast Magistrates court for claiming benefits they were not entitled to. Gerard Browne, 29, of Summerhill Drive, Belfast was given 12 months probation and ordered to pay court costs of £22 for wrongful encashment of Incapacity Benefit totalling £377.

A woman has been convicted at Newtownards Magistrates' Court for claiming almost £30,000 in benefits she was not entitled to. 55-year-old Mary McCluskey of Steel Dickson Avenue, Portaferry, County Down, claimed Housing Benefit, Income Support and Carers Allowance totalling £28,360 while failing to declare she was living abroad.

Belfast City Council has welcomed the conviction of a woman for causing unnecessary suffering to a cat. In June this year, the council received complaints that a cat had been left at the property unattended for a number of days.
