Procurement Seminar Planned For Ravenhill
A seminar on procurement opportunities surrounding the redevelopment of Ravenhill Stadium is to take place next week.
The event has been planned for 22 March and will take place at the Ulster Rugby grounds.
It is open to businesses linked to the construction sector in Belfast, including suppliers and sub-contractors.
Interested parties will also be given the chance to meet representatives from Gilbert-Ash, who won the contract for the redevelopment of Ravenhill Stadium.
The Ravenhill development will increase capacity at the stadium from 11,712 to 18,000 spectators.
Two new stands are to be constructed, featuring indoor training/warm up areas, a retail/museum area, lecture and media rooms and hospitality facilities.
The redevelopment comes as the Northern Ireland Executive has committed £25.2m to the Irish Football Association to develop Windsor Park and £61.4m to the Gaelic Athletic Association to refurbish Casement Park.
Alderman Christopher Stalford, Chairman of Belfast City Council`s Development Committee, said: "Belfast City Council supports local business across the city and this Information Seminar is very important to companies linked to the construction sector in Belfast.
"They can find out about the sub-contracting opportunities that will be available through the redevelopment of Ravenhill Stadium and the timescale for future procurement events linked to sub-contracting opportunities coming up in Windsor and Casement Parks. I would urge local companies to sign up for the event as soon as possible."
