£25,000 worth of cannabis seized in Co Antrim

A man has been arrested after more than £25,000 worth of cannabis was seized during a search of a house in Co Antrim.

More than thirty cannabis plants and 0.5kg of cannabis resin worth an estimated were seized from the house on the Ballymena Road, Ballymena.

A handgun and equipment used for growing cannabis plants were also found during the search.

Meanwhile, a man and woman have been released pending a report following the seizure of a quantity of drugs from a house in Londonderry.

The couple were arrested on Friday after drugs where recovered by police from a house in the Cornshell Fields area of the city.

Among the drugs seized were ecstasy and amphetamines worth an estimated street value of £2,000.

A 22-year-old man has been charged after £16,000 worth of cannabis plants were seized in L'Derry. The discovery was made after police searched a house in the Waterside area on Friday, 22 September. The suspect has been accused of growing cannabis, possession of a Class B drug and intent to supply.

Police have seized herbal cannabis, worth an estimated street value of £1 million, in Belfast. The discovery was made during a stop and search of two vehicles in the Dargan Road area on Tuesday. Suspected Class B drugs were also seized during the search.
