Family escape injury in 'reckless' attack

Police have described an incident in which a car sunroof was smashed as it travelled underneath a footbridge in Co Armagh as "reckless".

A family of five escaped serious injury in their car after the sunroof was smashed as it passed below the West Street footbridge at Northway in Portadown at about 11pm last night.

The driver and his three-year-old daughter suffered minor cuts from flying glass while his wife and two daughters escaped injury.

Detectives in the area have appealed for anyone with information, or who was in the vicinity at the time and seen anything suspicious, to contact them.

Woman And Child Escape Injury After House Attacked In East Belfast
A woman and child have escaped injury after a gang of armed men attacked their home in east Belfast. The attack happened at a house in Fashoda Street at around 8.30pm on Tuesday, 14 February. The men, armed with hammers, smashed a number of windows at the property. A mother and her daughter were not injured, the PSNI have confirmed.

Windows were broken in the living room, kitchen and sitting room areas. The woman and child were inside the property at the time of the attack.

Children Escape Injury After Shots Fired At House In Belfast
Three children have escaped injury after shots were fired through a window at a house in Belfast. The attack happened at a property on Norglen Parade at around 1.30am on Monday, 03 July. Two adults were also in the house when shots were fired through the living room window. No one was injured.

Belfast City Airport was forced to close for two hours today after a light aircraft made an emergency landing because of undercarriage failure. The plane, a privately owned Cessna, was forced to land heavily after its undercarriage failed on a return flight from Paris.

Pensioners escape injury in attack
Two pensioners have escaped injury after their home was attacked in Co Down on Sunday. The couple, who are both in their 60's, were asleep in their home at Chestnut Grove in Newry, when two men began throwing stones at the house shortly before 5.30am.
