First Phase Of New Business Park Complete
Invest Northern Ireland's Chief Executive Alastair Hamilton has announced the completion of the first phase of the new business park at Melmount Road in Strabane.
Sixteen acres of new serviced land are now available to qualifying businesses. To date, six eligible companies have declared an interest in acquiring sites at the business park.
Mr Hamilton said: "Our new business park in Strabane will help address the shortage of available industrial land in the district and play an important role in supporting economic development in the area.
"This investment forms part of Invest NI's land holding policy to develop land for industrial use in locations where the private sector is unwilling or unable to do so. We are proactively marketing this site to both foreign and indigenous investors as an investment location."
Infrastructure development works on the £6 million investment by Invest NI have been underway since May 2012. The completed Business Park will deliver a total of 22 acres of serviced land for potential investors.
"We will continue to work with Strabane District Council to progress this development as well as the companies who declare an interest in locating there," Mr Hamilton added.
