Independent Supermarket Jobs Boost
Over 150 jobs are set to be created in Coalisand with the opening of an independent supermarket.
Newell Stores will open the 25,000 sq feet supermarket to the public on Weds.
Company director Eugene Conway said a further 33 jobs will be created in their Dungannon store.

Dunnes Managers Expect "Significant Announcement"
Speculation over the rumoured takeover of Dunnes Stores by the British supermarket chain Asda have shifted up a gear following an unscheduled management briefing. Newtownards Firm Creates 40 Jobs
An insurance company in Newtownards is set to create 40 new jobs, it has been revealed. Enterprise Minister Arlene Foster has announced that insurance underwriting agency Midas Underwriting will create the jobs, supported by Invest Northern Ireland through the Jobs Fund.

Leading supermarket chain Morrisons has dismissed speculation that it is braced for a takeover. Reports on Friday morning suggested that US-owned chain, Asda, was believed to be on the verge of signing a deal to take over the 13 former Safeway stores in the province. However, a statement for Morrisons said the rumours were “incorrect”.

Tesco To Close Three NI Stores
Tesco has confirmed it is to close three of its stores in Northern Ireland. The announcement comes just weeks after the supermarket chain said it was no longer continuing with plans to build two new stores in the region. The retailer had planning permission for a supermarket in Carryduff, Co Down, as well as a store in Armagh.
