Woman Hurt In North Belfast Blast Bomb Attack
A woman has been injured in a blast bomb attack at her home in north Belfast.
The device exploded when the 44-year-old answered her door at about 9:45pm on Sunday.
She sustained cuts to her lags while her two dogs where bably hurt in the incident at Thorburn Road, Whitewell.
Her Husband and teenage daughter, who where at home at the time, remained unharmed.
Councillor Guy Spence, DUP, said: "There was significant damage done in and around the doorway from the blast when the device was thrown.
"The family is in deep shock. It was just fortunate no-one was badly injured. This could have resulted in potentially a loss of life."

Police have reported that shots were fired from the nationalist Short Strand into Cluan Place during disturbances in east Belfast last night. After about two hours of sporadic street violence, a gunman fired six shots through a gap in the 'peace-line' wall in the Clandeboye area of the Short Strand.

Two young girls caught in north Belfast bomb blast
Two young girls are recovering in hospital after being injured by blast bomb in north Belfast on Sunday. The attack which left an eight-year-old girl with a shrapnel wound to her back and an 11-year-old girl with extensive shock was believed to have been carried out by loyalists, according to the police.

Londonderry family in blast bomb attack
A family in Derry have escaped injury following a blast bomb attack on their home. The couple and a 10-year-old girl were in the house on the Benview Estate in Coshquin, when the attack took place. The bombing happened shortly after midnight last night and no one was injured.

Detectives investigate blast bomb attack
Police are investigating the possibility of a loyalist link to a blast bomb attack on a house in Co Antrim on Monday. A couple and their three children escaped injury in the blast, which caused damage to the front door of the family's home at Knockeen Crescent in Ballymena at about 4am.
