Robinson And McGuinness Grow US Investment
First Minister Peter Robinson and Martin McGuinness are in the USA this week on a business and trade mission.
The Ministers will be meeting a number of senior business executives to identify and develop potential inward investment opportunities.
The First Minister said: "Growing the Northern Ireland economy is a key priority in our Programme for Government and the Executive is committed to securing foreign direct investment from across the world.
"During this visit to the USA we will be having key meetings with influential figures and we intend to use every opportunity to promote the benefits of economic investment in Northern Ireland and deliver the message that Northern Ireland is a prime location in which to invest.
"Our growing reputation in global markets for quality products and services, combined with a skilled talent pool has enabled us to attract internationally renowned names and we are determined to build upon that reputation."
The deputy First Minister said: "Our biggest asset is our people. We have a skilled workforce with strong links between businesses and third level education. Our universities have the impressive ability to tailor courses to meet industry requirements and match the needs of foreign direct investors. This is a key factor when overseas companies consider setting up their operations here.
"Inward investment plays a vital role in strengthening our economy by introducing new skills and technologies. It also helps to strengthen our local supply chains and sustain jobs. We want to continue to grow investment from the USA while supporting the expansion of local companies."
