Tayto Announce Jobs Boost
Tayto Group has announced tasty new job opportunities.
The crisp and snack company will offer 58 new posts in Northern Ireland.
Enterprise minister Arlene Foster welcomed the investment which will see nearly £6m committed in additional wages and salaries over the next five years.
Invest Northern Ireland has offered Tayto £232,000 of support through the Jobs Fund to assist with its expansion.
Tayto's chief executive Paul Allen said the boost is part of the firm's long-term strategy to increase the capacity of its facilities in Northern Ireland and "to meet increased demand, both nationally and internationally".
The company employs 390 staff at Tandragee Castle in County Armagh and a further 900 at its other UK sites.
They are the third largest crisp and snack manufacturer in the UK with plants in Scunthorpe, Corby, Wolverhampton and Bolton.
The firm makes brands Real, Fusion, Tayto, Golden Wonder, Rough Cuts and Mr Porky.

Crisp firm Tayto has told staff it is likely 80 jobs are to go at its Tandragee site in Co Armagh, according to union Unite. The union said the workers had been told of the possible job losses by management on behalf of Manderley Food Group. Unite's regional officer Sam McKeever said: "This is only the latest in a series of blows to workers.

The event was revealed at the Conservative Party annual party conference in Birmingham. Making the announcement, Mrs May said that the event would strengthen "our precious union".
