Arrest Follows South Belfast Road Accident

A 27-year-old man is under-arrest following a crash that injured two people in south Belfast.

Two men were treated for injuries following the collision at Annadale Embankment at around 9.40pm on Wednesday.

Police are calling for witnesses of the crash, involving a black BMW and a red Volkswagen Golf, to come forward.

SF Won't Stand In Three Constituencies
Sinn Fein has announced it will step aside in three constituencies in next month's General Election, instead urging voters to support other pro-Remain candidates. President Mary Lou McDonald today announced they will not field Westminster candidates in East Belfast, South Belfast and North Down.

Woman Dies In Co Down Road Crash
A woman has died in a three vehicle crash in Co Down. The crash happened on the Belfast Road in Saintfield just before 6pm on Thursday, 06 July. A man is in a stable condition in hospital. Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them.

L'Derry Alert Follows Vehicle Hijacking
Police have announced a security alert in L'Derry after masked men ordered a lorry driver to take an object to Strand Road police station. The lorry was stopped on Wednesday at about 12:30 in the Galliagh area as the driver was making a delivery to Ederowen Park.

Third Man Arrested In Mark Lovell Murder Investigation
Detectives investigating the murder of Mark Lovell in Ardcarn Park, Newry, on the evening of Thursday 1 December have arrested a 34 year old man today. The arrest follows searches of properties in the Newry area this morning, Thursday 8th December.

NI Fire Service Chief Suspended
The Head of the Northern Ireland Fire and Rescue Service (NIFRS) has been suspended. Gary Thompson joined the service in 1994 and worked as a part-time firefighter until he became chief in 2016. The suspension is understood to be a "precautionary" measure, and came into effect on Monday 10 December.
