David Healy Accused Of Assault
Northern Ireland footballer David Healy has been accused of assault.
The 33-year-old was due to appear at Laganside Magistrates’ Court this morning, but failed to show.
He is charged with assaulting James Geroid Crossan on May 26 last year.
Defence solicitor Richard McConkey has requested a two week adjournment.
Mr Healy, from Castleview Terrace, Killyleagh in Co Down, plays for English first division side Bury.
He received an MBE in 2008 for services to football and the community.
He has played for Leeds United, Fulham, Sunderland and Glasgow Rangers in the past.
The case is to be listed again in two weeks' time.

A charge of assault against Northern Ireland footballer David Healy will proceed, the BBC has reported. BBC Northern Ireland said prosecutors were going ahead with the case, following the recommendation from a judge that it be reviewed. David Healy is originally from Killyleagh in County Down.
