Man Charged With Armed Robbery

A man has been charged by police in connection with the armed robbery of a cash in transit van.

The 46-year-old, who was carrying a gun, threatened a security guard during the raid on the Ormeau Road in September last year.

The man is due to appear in Belast Magistrates' Court today.

Two men and one woman have already been charged.

One man has been charged in connection with an armed robbery at a chemist’s shop in Lisburn on Thursday. He was also charged with grievous bodily harm with intent after allegedly entering the premises at Knockmore Square in the city and demanding a quantity of drugs.

Man Arrested Over Armed Robbery In West Belfast
A man has been arrested in connection with an armed robbery in west Belfast. The robbery happened at a shop on Caffrey Avenue at around 9.30pm on Tuesday, 27 February. The suspect threatened a member of staff and made off with a sum of cash and cigarettes. He was arrested on Wednesday, 28 February, and has been detained in police custody.
