Exploristics Wins Business In US

Exploristics, the Belfast-based specialist in statistical and data analytics, has been assisted by Invest Northern Ireland to win business worth around £200,000 from US industry leaders.

Exploristics has received a range of assistance from Invest NI to develop and market internationally its expertise in the use of genetics in clinical trials and in the utilisation of biomarkers. The new contracts will see researchers at Exploristics carrying out projects to support new drug developments for the treatment of cancer and other serious medical conditions and help develop better, more predictive models for the earlier diagnosis of pancreatic cancer.

The latest business outside Northern Ireland followed the company's participation in a joint Department of Health/Invest NI Connected Health mission to the US led by Health Minister Edwin Poots. The new business was announced by Dr Aiden Flynn, Managing Director of Exploristics and founder of the business in 2009, and welcomed by Dr Vicky Kell, Invest NI Trade Director.

Dr Flynn, who has extensive experience in pharmaceutical development work with major pharma companies, said: "The new contracts are immensely important and will help to strengthen our position in the important US marketplace where there is extensive demand for the exploratory data analysis services that we provide.

"We secured the new business over other providers because of the depth of our expertise in pharmacogenetics and the flexibility of our approach to the requirements of our clients. We have a small and highly skilled team which enables us to respond quickly and effectively to the data requirements of individual clients.

"We are benefiting substantially from the advice and support from the Invest NI team especially in areas such as innovation, e-business systems, skills and export marketing including support to showcase our expertise at major industry conferences and other globally important events."
