Police arrest man in connection with sheep killings

Police have arrested a man in connection to the killing of sheep at a Co Tyrone farm earlier in the week.

The killing of four sheep and 11 lambs at Brendan McLaughlin's Claudy farm on Tuesday was described by the USPCA as the worst case of pre-meditated animal cruelty it had ever come across in the province.

Mr McLaughlin said he believed the attack may have been carried out by people with a grudge against him. He confirmed that gun shots were fired at his house and his son's car just three weeks ago.

Police are currently questioning the man at Strand Road police station in Londonderry.
