School Bus Slides Off Road

The frosty conditions currently affecting Northern Ireland have caused a school bus carrying 28 children to slide off a road in County L’Derry.

No injuries have been reported in the incident, which occurred on the Knockadoo Road near Moneymore on Wednesday morning.

The pupils are thought to be from Lissan and Churchtown primary schools and Cookstown High School.

Police have requested parents do not try and come to the scene of the accident due to the currently treacherous road conditions.

Man Charged With Rape

A 26-year-old man is due to appear in court charged with rape and other connected offences.

Police have said the charge has been brought regarding an alleged attack in east Belfast on Saturday.

Detectives from the PSNI’s rape crime unit have charged the man, who will appear at Belfast Magistrates Court on Wednesday.

Teenage Ref Assaulted At Football Match

A teenage referee has been assaulted during a football match in County Tyrone,

The 19-year-old was assaulted during a Fermanagh and Western League Division One game at Crawford’s Lane in Dromore on Saturday.

The match was between Tummery Athletic and Irvinestown Wanderers.

The teenager, who is qualified with the Irish Football Association, suffered bruising to his face and leg.

A police investigation is underway.

The man referees within the Fermanagh and Western leagues.

Woman Dies Following Traffic Accident

A 52-year-old woman has died in hospital after being involved in a traffic accident in Castledawson, County L’Derry.

The incident happened on the Curran Road at about 08:00 on Tuesday morning. The road remained closed while emergency services attended the scene.

It is understood no other vehicles were involved.

A man has died in a workplace accident in Co Armagh. It is believed the man was crushed by a road roller while a new road surface was being laid on the Bog Road, Forkhill, on Wednesday, 31 May. Police and the Health and Safety Executive have launched an investigation.

Serious Road Crash In L'Derry
A serious road crash has occurred on the Chapel Road in L'Derry. A car and a motorbike where involved in the incident, according to the police. One man, believed to be a teenager, has been taken to hospital where his injuries are believed to be serious. The road has been closed at its junctions with Newlyn Terrace and Spencer Road.
