Tourism Trade Association Launched
A new not-for-profit and independent trade association for the Northern Irish events industry has been launched.
'In Any Event' is an organisation which intends to provide links to other organisations and associations across the events industry, providing its members with research, market data, education, training programmes and networking opportunities.
The launch has been welcomed by Tourism Minister Arlene Foster today,
The Minister said: "Focusing on job creation, support for those involved in events at all levels and collaboration to showcase our abilities on the world stage during 2012, which is 'our time to shine', is vital now and in the future.
"A successful tourism destination is one that has a high level of private sector business participation, high quality of product and experiences and a high level of customer service."
Minister Foster emphasised that everyone had their part to play in making the visitor experience in Northern Ireland superior to that of other regions of the UK and the Republic of Ireland.
"We cannot afford to sit back and expect the benefits come to us," she said.
"We must all deliver opportunities for our visitors to spend their money on a world class experience and contribute to the local economy right across Northern Ireland. My Department is fully committed to the success of tourism here but the bottom line is that tourism is everyone’s business."
The first members meeting will be held on Wednesday 7 November. The organisation is supported by the Northern Ireland Tourist Board and membership categories include full, associate, student and stakeholder.
