Woman Shaken After Car Hijacking

A woman has been left shaken as a man, believed to be carrying a knife, hijacked her car yesterday in the Corporation Street area of Belfast.

Detectives in Musgrave are appealing for information following a report of the incident.

The hijacking was reported to the PSNI at around 18:15.

The car is reported to be a Peugeot 207. The man ordered the woman out of the vehicle and then made off in the stolen car.

The vehicle was found abandoned at approximately 8.45pm in the Upper Meadow Street area of Belfast.

The female driver was not injured but was left badly shaken.

Anyone who may have witnessed the incident or who may have information is asked to contact the police at Musgrave on 0845 600 8000.

Police are also keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the car being abandoned in the Upper Meadow Street area.

Man Charged With Sexual Assault

A 44-year-old man has pleaded not guilty to sexually assaulting two teenage girls, aged 13 and 15.

The man, who cannot be named for legal reasons, denied four charges of indecent assault and five charges of touching the girls in a sexual manner at Londonderry Crown Court.

The offences are alleged to have been committed between April 2008 and September 2009.

The defendant has been released on bail and will stand trial in December.

Arrests Made Over 'Legal Highs'

Two men have been arrested following investigations into the sale and supply of so-called legal highs.

Detectives from the Organised Crime Branch arrested the men, aged 58 and 31, following searches of commercial premises in North Street and Donegall Street in Belfast yesterday afternoon.

A number of items were removed from the premises and have been sent for forensic examination.

The arrests were part of an ongoing investigation into the possession of class B drugs and the supply of class B drugs.

The 31-year-old man was later released pending a report to the Public Prosecution Service.

The 58-year-old was released on bail to attend a police station at a later date.

PSNI Organised Crime Branch have asked anyone with information regarding the sale of illegal substances to contact them on 0845 600 8000.

Teenage Girls Attacked

Two teenage girls have been attacked in east Belfast.

The girls were assaulted by a man in the Cameronian Drive area around 14:00.

Police have describe the injuries sustained by the two victims as minor.

Inquiries into the attack are continuing and police have appealed to anyone who witnessed the assault or who has any information to contact them.

Man Released On Bail Over Lurgan Murder
A man arrested in connection with a murder in Lurgan on Sunday, 06 August, has been released on bail pending further enquiries. The body of a man, aged 45, was discovered at a flat on Victoria Street. Police are appealing for anyone with information to contact them.

A 22-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a report of an assault at licenced premises at the Rathfriland Road area of Dromara. Detective Inspector Bell said: "Shortly before 10:10pm on Friday 15th December, it was reported that an altercation occurred at a bar in the area following three men refused entry to the premises.

Man Dies In Portadown Road Crash
An 18-year-old man has died following a collision in Portadown. The crash happened on the Dungannon Road between midnight and 12.30am on Wednesday, 08 November. The road has been re-opened. Elsewhere, a man, aged in his 30's, has died in a road collision in Co Antrim.

Man Shot In County Down
A 28-year-old man has been shot in the leg in a gun attack in County Down. The man was getting out of his car at the Quays in Killyleagh at about 1.00am on Wednesday morning when a man approached him and shot him. The man is recovering in hospital where his injuries are not thought to be life threatening.

Co Fermanagh man suffers broken nose in robbery
A Co Fermanagh man has suffered a broken nose after being assaulted by two men at his home in Enniskillen. The 65-year-old man was confronted by two men who forced their way into his home on Sunday. They then assaulted him before robbing his home. It is understood that a sum of money was taken during the robbery.
