Man appears in court over cannabis haul

A 63-year-old man has appeared in court today in connection with a £750,000 seizure of cannabis resin.

Joseph Michael Tully, of Granemore Road, Keady, appeared before Armagh Magistrates Court charged with possessing cannabis and having it with intent to supply.

Drugs squad officers and uniformed police uncovered the haul during the search of a vehicle in south Armagh on Sunday.

A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with the discovery of two cannabis factories in County Down. At around 9:25am on Sunday 29th January, police received a report of a disturbance in the Kilkinamurry Road area of Ballyward.

Drugs seized in County Armagh
Police in County Armagh have seized a quantity of drugs during a search operation yesterday evening. The drugs, which have an estimated street value of approximately £6,000, were discovered in the Legacorry Court area of Lurgan. Police said that a quantity of cannabis, cocaine and crystal ecstasy were removed during the raid. No arrests were made.

Two Charged Over Cannabis Seizure In Magherafelt
Two men have been charged in connection with a cannabis seizure, worth over £400,000, in Magherafelt on Tuesday. The men, aged 40 and 50, have been charged with a range of offences including cultivating cannabis, possession of class B drugs and possession of class B drugs with intent to supply as well as the offence of abstracting electricity.

Third Haul Of Cannabis Plants Recovered
Just days after a huge haul of cannabis plants were recovered by police in north Belfast - with those involved thought to be foreign nationals - six people of Chinese origin have been remanded in custody at Ballymena Magistrates Court - over two separate drugs incidents.
