Major Award For Small Business Welcomed
Squeeze Juice Cafe, a wheat grass juice business owned by Jacquelyn Stewart, is being commended with a prestigious national award and is being welcomed by Invest NI.
The business picked up the Kraft Foods Leading Edge Leading Light Award due to the transformation to an online operation that exports to the likes of US and Europe.
Invest NI has assisted the company to help increase the potential of the export oh Jacquelyn's wheat grass juice through Technical development support and Innovation Voucher.
The Technology and Process development Director from Invest NI. Olivia Hill said: "Our support enabled the company to gain advice and guidance from experts at the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute in Belfast to extend the shelf-life of the juice and thereby to increase its export potential. It's immensely encouraging to see this small and ambitious business now shipping juice regularly to customers in Europe and the US."
Jacquelyn received a prize of £2,000 and a trophy.
She said:"Invest NI's innovation and technical experts have been extremely supportive over the past year."
