New Call For Applicants To The EI Competitive Start Fund Welcomed

The Minister for Research and Innovation, Seán Sherlock TD, has welcomed the new call for applicants to the Enterprise Ireland Competitive Start Fund, announced by the Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD.

The Minister also congratulated the 30 companies who were successful in their applications under the last round of funding, two of which are based in Cork.

Commenting on the announcement, Minister Sherlock said: "The Enterprise Ireland Competitive Start Fund is a clear example of this Government’s commitment to indigenous enterprise. As Minister Bruton has said, while multinational investment is very important to this country, we must also do all we can to assist our home-grown entrepreneurs.

"I would encourage companies who feel they are eligible, to apply to Enterprise Ireland under the next round of funding. As well as an equity investment of up to €50,000 being available, successful companies will also have the benefit of an experienced mentor to support them. Expert advice like this is vital to start-up companies."
