Couple held hostage in south Belfast robbery

A couple have been tied up and robbed by an armed gang at their south Belfast home.

Three masked men entered the house at Windsor Avenue North at around 10.30am on Monday night armed with handguns. Once inside they demanded money from the couple who were held inside the house throughout the night whilst the gang ransacked the home.

The thieves left early the house on Tuesday morning with an undisclosed sum of money.

Police have appealed for anyone who may have witnessed anything suspicious at the time to contact them.

Armed gang kidnap Strabane family
An armed gang held a family hostage in their Co Tyrone home and forced a man to hand over the weekend takings from a shop, this morning. Three masked men forced their way into the house in the Ballycolman area in Strabane and confronted the family.

Elderly man injured in robbery
An elderly man is being treated in hospital after he was attacked during a robbery at his home in Lisburn on Friday. The man's wife also suffered shock during the incident which occurred at the couple's home on the Causeway End Road early this morning.
