Lough Erne Golf Resort Put On The Market
The Lough Erne golf resort in Fermanagh has been up for sale at a price of £10m available immediately, administrators have said.
The five-star facility opened in 2007 but failed to attract enough business and went into administration in May 2011.
At one stage, it was valued around £30m.
When owners Castle Hume Leisure went into administration, they owed Bank of Ireland £25m.
The hotel comprises 120 rooms and suites, a dedicated conference and banqueting space for 400 people, five food and beverage outlets and an authentic Thai Spa.
The complex has two championship golf courses - the Castle Hume and the signature Faldo course - two floodlit driving ranges and boasts the only Nick Faldo Academy in Europe.
The sale also includes 25 substantially completed holiday homes (a mix of 3, 4 and 5-bed units) within the golf village.
Planning consent is in place to develop another 18 holiday homes.
The administrators said the "availability of this magnificent resort offers a purchaser a truly unique opportunity" to further establish it as one of the foremost golfing, leisure, wedding and conference destinations in Ireland and Britain.
