SumUp Development Centre Jobs Boost

Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD has announced that SumUp, a company dedicated to helping small businesses overcome issues with accepting credit and debit card payments, is to establish a customer, technical support and development centre in Dublin, creating 40 new, high quality jobs in the process. The investment is supported by the Irish Government through IDA Ireland.

SumUp's goal is to establish itself as the leading mobile point-of-sale solution amongst SMEs in the European market. SumUp supplies merchants with a mobile app and card reader capable of turning any Apple iPhone, iPad, iPhone Touch or Android-based smart phone into a terminal capable of processing credit and debit card payments. Today’s announcement follows on from SumUp’s launch of its mobile POS technology in Great Britain, Ireland, Germany and Austria in late August. Recruitment for the 40 new jobs is already underway.

Making the announcement, Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation, Richard Bruton TD, commented: "The announcement by SumUp that they are to create 40 new high quality jobs is very welcome and is further evidence that Ireland is a key location for dynamic technology companies operating in fast-growing sectors of the industry. The Government’s Action Plan for Jobs has identified the IT sector as an area of growth opportunity for Ireland and with proper implementation I am confident that in the coming months we will see further jobs growth from this sector."
