Man savagely beaten in Shankill area
A man has been severely beaten by a gang of men in the Shankill Road area of west Belfast.
Five men broke into a house in Wilton Street at around 5.30pm yesterday evening and attacked the man. They then proceeded to tie the victim up, hood him, thrown paint over him, before repeatedly beating him for around two hours.
A woman, who was in the house at the time, also had her hands bound.
The male victim was taken to hospital following the attack with head, body and leg injuries. It is understood that he later discharged himself from hospital.
Detectives at Antrim Road police station have asked for anyone who was in the area between 5.30pm and 7.30pm to contact them.

Police Appeal After Man Attacked In Co Antrim
Police are appealing for information after a man was attacked in Ballymena, Co Antrim. The assault happened in the North Road area at around 3.30am on Sunday, 29 January. A gang of four or five men attacked the victim, aged 37. He was taken to hospital where his condition has been described as "serious".

A man has been injured after being shot in the leg in Claudy, L'Derry. The victim had been picked up by several males in a car in the Letterkenny Road at around 11.40pm on Monday, 17 May. He was taken to the Heathfield Road area and was shot once in the leg, according to the PSNI.

A man has been left unrecognisable to his closest family after being brutally beaten in Newtownabbey, Co Antrim. Anthony McMahon, aged 59, was left unconscious and barely breathing in a pool of blood following an assault in a carpark in the Longwood Road area at around 10.40pm on Tuesday, 15 August.
