Bench Warrant Issued For NI Rapist
A warrant has been issued by a Dublin District court for the arrest of a rapist from Northern Ireland who failed to appear in court.
19-year-old Edward Connors, who raped an American tourist in west Belfast four years ago, was released from prison at the start of the year after serving four years of an eight year sentence behind bars.
On 26th July he was charged with failing to notify the authorities of his name, address and date of birth under the Sex Offenders Act.
He failed to turn up for his court hearing yesterday.
A bench warrant has been issued for his arrest.

Over £1m Secured For Early Years Fund
Over £1 million in funding has been secured for the Early Years Fund. The Fund, which supports 153 early years organisations across Northern Ireland, will use the funding to ensure current services continue until March 2016. Education Minister John O'Dowd confirmed £1.1m in funding.

A convicted rapist who was on the run from Northern Irish police has been arrested by gardaí in Dublin. The PSNI issued an arrest warrant for Edward Connors, 19, earlier this week. The teenager was just 15 when he raped an American tourist in the Colin Glen Forest Park in Belfast, four years ago.

22-Year-Old Man Jailed For Rape At Laganside Crown Court
A 22-year-old man has been sentenced to six years for rape at Laganside Crown Court. Ahmad Alsbaihi was sentenced to six years. He will serve three years in custody and three years on licence. He will be placed on the Sex Offenders Register and will be subject to a Sexual Offences Prevention Order (SOPO) for 10 years.

Rapist jailed for ten years
A man has been jailed for 10 years today after being found guilty of raping a woman in the grounds of a Belfast golf course earlier this year. Craig Morgan, 22, from Malton Drive, Taughmonagh, was found guilty of raping the 19-year-old student on the grounds of Balmoral golf club on April 22.
