Arson Attack On Polish Family Condemned
SDLP Larne Councillor Martin Wilson has condemned an arson attack on the home of a Polish family in Mark Street in Glenarm.
He said the stark contrast from what the local Polish community offer our society to those who carried this out are there for all to see.
Mr Wilson said: "I utterly condemn this attack. Everybody should have the right to live in their home, with their family, without the fear of attack. This is sickening and the only saving grace is that nobody was injured. This could have been a multiple tragedy.
"Apparently, this is not the first time this family has been subjected to such hatred. The thoughts of all decent thinking people in the local area are with them today.
"The Polish community are a well respected and hard-working part of our local community and those who carried this incident out have obviously nothing positive to offer.
"I urge anybody with information about this to bring it to the police. We cannot have people who feel they have the authority to attack a family home like this on our streets."
