Take Fundraising To New Heights, Urges Ulster Rugby Man
Rugby ace Chris Henry is urging people to take their fundraising to new heights.
The Ulster player wants people to lace up their boots and climb Slieve Donard for NI Cancer Fund for Children, on August 26.
The five and half mile ascent will see hikers climb a height of 2,550 feet – a challenge which will take between three and five hours to complete.
They will get views of the Wicklow Hills, the Isle of Man and Scotland.
And the prospect of a barbecue at the end might be just the propulsion people need to help them keep going.
Participants will help raise funds for NICFC which offers vital practical and emotional support to children with cancer and their families.
Mr Henry said you don't have to be a super-fit rugby player to take part , but to get ready you could consider a few "warm-up walks".
And Mr Henry's team spirit came through when said the fact the Slieve Donard climb is a group event is fantastic as people can spur each other on.
"It's always good to work with other people, it keeps you motivated. Challenges like this are just as much about mental strength as they are about working the body," he said.
Registration for this event is £20 per person, and walkers are required to raise a minimum sponsorship of £80.

A new initiative to inspire lifelong participation in rugby across NI has been announced by Ulster Rugby. Set to have a lasting and positive impact on the lives of those involved in rugby in Ulster, the Ulster Rugby Foundation will drive forward a community game in the province which welcomes people of all ages and abilities.

Chris Henry To Retire From Rugby
Ulster and Ireland back row Chris Henry is to retire from rugby. He has played for Ulster Rugby for 10 seasons. Chris also said his career has "taken its toll physically". In an open letter to the club he wrote:"I am incredibly proud to be a one-club man, and I want to thank Ulster for giving me the chance to achieve my dream.

Chris Henry Signs Two-Year Deal With Ulster Rugby
Chris Henry has signed a new deal with Ulster Rugby. The back-row forward has had his contract extended for another two years which means he will remain at Kingspan Stadium until June 2019.
