Irish Olympian Betting Investigation

An investigation is underway into claims an unnamed member of the Irish Olympics team betted on an opponent.

The practice is specifically outlawed under International Olympic Committee guidelines.

Allegations of mispractice are thought to have been contained in an e-mail.

Vehicle Hijacked In Dunmurry

A driver was threatened with a knife before his car was hijacked last night.

Two masked men made off with his car from business premises in the Stewartstown Road area shortly before midnight.

The car was found abandoned close to Twinbrook.

Limavady Sex Assault: Man Hunted

Police are looking for a man aged in his 20s or younger after a report that a woman was the victim of a serious sex attack in a Limavady alleyway.

The attack is alleged to have taken place near the Catherine Street area after 2am on Sunday.

The suspect is described as approximately 5ft 9in or 5ft 10in tall, with short brown, spiky hair.

He was wearing a blue shirt with the sleeves rolled up, narrow-legged cream chinos and he had a rubber charity band on his right arm.

Pair Carjacked In South Belfast
A man and woman have had their car hijacked in south Belfast. The pair were travelling on the Orpen Road in Finaghy when a man approached the vehicle and threatened them, just after midnight on Thursday. The hijacker made off in the vehicle, a blue Citroen C3, which was later found at Greenwood Glen in Poleglass.

Delivery Driver Threatened And Robbed In East Belfast
A delivery driver has been threatened and robbed by two masked men in east Belfast. The incident happened on the Newtownards Road on shortly before 7am on Thursday, 08 December. The suspects reversed a grey coloured car into the delivery van, threatened the driver and made off with a quantity of cigarettes.

Woman Grabbed By Man Escapes In Passing Car
A woman escaped a man from attacking her by jumping into a passing car. The woman, aged in her 20s, was grabbed by a man as she was asking on Seymour Street in Lisburn, shortly before midnight on Monday, 13 June. Police also believe the man may have approached another woman a few minutes before.

Mother And Child Last Seen In South Belfast Missing
Police are concerned for the welfare of a mother and daughter who were last seen in south Belfast. Petia Fleming and her eight-year-old daughter Rhianna were seen in the Newtownbreda area on Wednesday morning. Petia is described as around 5ft 4inches in height, of slim build and with collar-length blond hair.

Driver killed as car collides with lamppost
A 22-year-old man has been killed in a road traffic accident in Belfast. The accident occurred on the King's Road in Knock area shortly before midnight on Monday October 28. The man, who has not yet been named, died when his car struck a lamppost. No other vehicles are believed to have been involved in the accident.
