Protected Birds Of Prey Killed
Police believe a falcon chick may have been shot as protected birds have disappeared from the Glenwherry area of north Antrim.
Four peregrine falcons disappeared and one, a chick, was found fatally injured.
It is believed the others may have been killed.
Homophobia 'Keeps Pink Pound Out' Of Northern Ireland
Northern Ireland is missing out on the 'pink pound' as gay holidaymakers go to other places they think are less prejudiced, a leading campaigner has said.
Patrick Strudwick, author of an investigation into therapists who claimed they could cure homosexuality, will speak on Monday July 30 at Amnesty International’s annual Pride lecture in Belfast.
He said: "Sadly, Northern Ireland has a reputation as still being in the Dark Ages when it comes to gay rights. It is missing out on the pink pound because gay people don't want to visit."
£100,000 Bill To Save Files After Flooding
The cost of salvaging thousands of government documents that were damaged in flooding could turn out to be more than £100,000.
Policy papers and prison service records were damaged on the day the Queen visited Stormont, when Massey House and Dundonald House were flooded.
A private company has been contracted to recover the files, using a specialist freezing process.

Heavy rainfall has led to further flooding, and caused hazardous driving conditions for motorists in parts of Northern Ireland. According to the Met Office, rain will be persistently heavy, accompanied by strong winds, with the risk of localised flooding over the weekend.

Taoiseach Leo Varadkar is to begin a two-day visit to Northern Ireland today, 04 August. The Irish Prime Minister is due to give a speech later at Queen's University Belfast on the future of north-south relations. Later this afternoon, he will hold meetings with local political parties.
