Navan Centre Recruits For Advisory Board
It has been integral to Northern Irish tourism for many years, but risks getting overshadowed by more glamorous rivals when the cruise ship passengers do the rounds.
Now the Navan Fort in Armagh is planning to step up its campaign for a slice of the market.
The Ulster Gazette newspaper has reported that the Navan Centre, the exhibition that interprets one of Ireland's most important ancient monuments, is recruiting for an advisory board.
The board will consist of eight council and seven external members, whose aim will be to define a new vision for the future and oversee strategic developments.
Navan Centre, located in County Armagh, was last revamped in 2009/2010 and is open all year round.
The refurbishment was criticised for costing more and taking longer than expected.
Members of the new advisory will have to have experience of working in the tourism sector, be business leaders, culture and arts leaders or representatives of communities in Armagh city and district.
To request an application pack, call 028 3752 9644.
